UCCS Veteran & Military Affairs

"At UCCS, we are deeply committed to supporting our veterans, active-duty service members, and military families, and to making our campus a place where we can support those who have dedicated their lives to supporting our country. We strive to ensure that they receive the support, respect, and care they need to thrive. The singular experiences of our military affiliated community members brings a profound impact to our Mountain Lion family. Though the debt we owe to our veterans and service-members can never truly be repaid, we can work to honor their service by advocating for their well-being and long-lasting success."

Jennifer Sobanet, Chancellor.

Here For You!

At UCCS, where 27% of our student population is military-affiliated, we strive to be the top choice for servicemembers, veterans, and their family members. We provide transition assistance from military to college life through educational benefits counseling and processing, campus and community engagement, and academic and social support.  The McCord-Herbst Student Veteran Center is open to all military-affiliated students. The Center offers a quiet and comfortable lounge area, coffee and snacks, the USAA Workforce Computer Lab, study areas, and a place to relax and connect with others.  Our staff and student employees are all military-affiliated and are here to support you!

Active Duty Tuition Assistance Grant

UCCS is proud to announce the Active Duty Tuition Assistance Grant, beginning in Fall 2023. Active-duty undergraduate students using military tuition assistance (TA) are eligible for a grant that covers tuition, fees, and required materials for courses eligible for TA.
