V.E.T.S. Faculty and Staff Training

The Veteran Educators Training and Support program (V.E.T.S.) is an interactive training session designed to provide faculty and staff with applicable information about the student veteran transition experience and strategies for understanding and helping veterans succeed academically.

The V.E.T.S. training will include the following:

• Statistics and demographics of military-connected students at UCCS

• Overview of VA Education Benefits

• Military vs. civilian/campus culture

• Challenges facing returning veterans - academic and non-academic

• Effective strategies for working with military-connected students

• Campus Resources - academic and non-academic

• Brief overview of PTSD/TBI and other war-related trauma

V.E.T.S. Training Dates

Training sessions are typically held once per semester.
